Notes from home page:

1. The SMS (text) message service can vary depending on factors outside of the control of Hello Sailor. During times of high network activity, your network provider may store messages and send them later in a batch. During maintenance or outages to a mobile phone network some messages may not arrive, therefore Hello Sailor must not be used as the primary method of ensuring the safety of your vessel.

2. Tested on Vodaphone, EE and O2 networks. The other major UK network 3, has never had it’s own GSM network and therefore its SIM cards are incompatible with Hello Sailor. Hello Sailor is supplied with a GiffGaff SIM card to get you started, GiffGaff uses the O2 network. A £10 initial top-up and bank details are necessary to activate this SIM, which may take up to 24 hours, your GiffGaff account page will tell you if the SIM is still being activated.

3. Please choose a GSM network in your country with the right coverage and plan for you. See https://www.gsma.com/coverage/#900 for coverage where you live. We are working on versions of Hello Sailor to cover all regions. If no GSM networks are available in your area, please get in touch and we will contact you when these versions become available.

4. Ensure that Hello Sailor is installed by a competent person, and that all necessary terminals are correctly fused.
